Electrical Wiring Designer

Job Summary
Independently execute complex electrical wiring design assignments for power generation projects, developing detailed drawings, one-line diagrams, and MCC layouts from specifications. Create instrument loop drawings, DCS wiring terminations, and cable schedules while performing sizing calculations and maintaining accurate documentation. Coordinate design activities with other engineering disciplines, review vendor submittals, and conduct field visits and panel audits as required. Provide technical guidance to junior designers and ensure all deliverables meet project schedules, budgets, and regulatory standards. This role supports Flexicrew Technical Services' complex power generation portfolio, requiring proficiency in SmartPlant Electrical, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in electrical and instrumentation wiring design for power generation or industrial projects
- Proficiency with SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), AutoCAD, and MicroStation
- Strong knowledge of detailed wiring drawings for lighting, small power, and earthing systems
- Experience developing MV/LV single-line diagrams and control/wiring schematics
- Familiarity with AC/DC distribution panels and process area electrical equipment layouts
- Ability to perform cable sizing calculations and develop cable schedules
- Strong understanding of electrical drafting standards, codes, and industry practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Design, Drafting, or related field preferred
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to conduct occasional field visits and panel audits in industrial or power generation environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and field personnel
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
