Electrical Test Engineer V

Job Summary
Design, develop, and implement complex electrical test plans for server, storage, and networking hardware. Lead debug and root cause analysis of electrical failures at the component, board, and system level using advanced diagnostic tools. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure testability, while developing automated test scripts in Python, C++, or LabVIEW. Analyze test data, generate reports, and provide recommendations for design improvements. Evaluate test equipment, perform signal and power integrity measurements, and participate in design reviews and FMEAs. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices within the electrical testing team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical testing, validation, and debug of complex hardware systems, preferably in the server, storage, or data center industry
- Expertise in various electrical testing techniques, including functional, stress, performance, and compliance testing (e.g., PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, USB)
- Strong proficiency with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and power supplies
- Advanced programming skills in Python, C++, LabVIEW, or similar languages for test automation and data analysis
- Deep understanding of digital and analog circuit design principles, signal integrity, and power delivery networks
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and debug complex electrical issues down to the component level
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence Allegro) is a plus
