Electrical Test Engineer - Transformers

Job Summary
Conduct electrical testing on transformers and components using ERMCO standards and industry requirements like IEEE, IEC, CSA, and NEMA. Design and develop test systems for distribution, network, and dry-type transformers while performing detailed engineering analysis to optimize cost, performance, and efficiency. Oversee failure analysis on design and production issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions that improve product quality and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain to integrate designs into production and ensure regulatory compliance. Mentor junior engineers and technicians while maintaining a safe work environment for medium voltage testing up to 100 kV. Prepare engineering documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within ERMCO's vertically integrated operations supporting grid modernization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5-6 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on transformer and related products testing and/or design
- Proven ability to perform design projects from concept to production
- Extensive experience with electrical testing of transformers and testing equipment
- Extensive experience and knowledge with industry standards (e.g. IEEE, IEC, CSA, NEMA) and regulatory requirements for transformers or components
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing complex technical challenges independently
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities
- Experience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for design and production related issues
- This role will be onsite in Athens, GA
