Job Summary
Electrical Test Engineer to drive forward the development of world-leading maritime technology. Responsibilities include test system design and planning with cross-functional teams, development and execution of comprehensive test plans, design and layout of electrical test systems (power distribution, wiring harnesses, control modules, motor controllers, PLCs), prototyping and testing of electrical systems, root cause analysis, and detailed documentation including risk assessments and HV safety documentation. Requires experience with electrical test, development, commissioning, reporting, CAD for electrical design, CAN protocols, and familiarity with EV architectures and high voltage systems; maritime context is a plus. The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement within an innovative engineering environment.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical / Mechatronics engineering qualifications to degree level or a minimum of 3 years industry experience with an apprenticeship qualification
- Experience of electrical test, development, commissioning and reporting
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g. AutoCAD or similar)
- Experience with high voltage systems (up to 1000V) advantageous
- Knowledge of CAN
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools for electrical systems
- Knowledge of electric vehicle architectures, power electronics, and battery management systems advantageous
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electric vehicles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
