Job Summary
Electrical Technician III for Reality Labs hardware team focused on designing, building, and validating prototype PCBs and electronic assemblies for wearable/AR hardware. Responsibilities include building, assembling, reworking, testing, and repairing prototype PCBs and assemblies (including fine-pitch SMD 01005 components and 0.35mm-pitch BGA), performing functional tests, disassembly for failure analysis, documenting work thoroughly, and maintaining test fixtures and lab equipment. Requires 3+ years of electronic assembly experience and capability with lab instruments; strong collaboration with design engineers for troubleshooting; and willingness to implement process improvements for production efficiency. Desirable experience includes formal EE prototyping in consumer electronics or wearables, familiarity with EDA tools (Altium Designer, Allegro, KiCad) and version control, and certifications from EPTAC.
Required Qualifications
- AS/AA or BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years experience with electronic assembly and soldering, including (01005) and 0.35mm-pitch BGA components
- Ability to operate standard lab test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, signal generators, LCR meters)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical datasheets, schematics, PCB layout drawings, and mechanical assembly drawings
