Job Summary

Electrical Technician I wires PC boards, controls, switches, and various electrical assemblies from schematics, layout diagrams, and written specifications. Work is performed on the Day Shift (Mon-Fri, 6:00 am–2:30 pm) at the Denver facility, with regular duties including identifying and wiring utility circuits and components, bending and installing EMT and rigid conduit per NEC code, wiring and terminating wire and cable in panels and components, reading electrical prints, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. The role requires applying electrical theory to install circuits and components, reading schematics and prints, using tools and testing equipment, and coordinating with team members; travel and relocation are not noted as requirements. The position involves a safety-focused environment with potential exposure to electrical hazards and physical demands such as heavy lifting up to 100 pounds and standing for long periods.

Required Qualifications

  • 0-2,000 hours of on-the-job electrician experience
  • Passes IE Electrical Technician 1 Competency Test with a score of 75% or higher
  • Ability to read, interpret, understand electrical schematics/ drawings and specification charts and make direct application to project set up and final product
  • Must be able to read production reports related to quality and quantity
  • Must be able to write NCRs and comply with safety rules
  • Must establish productive communication with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and staff
  • Ability to compute electrical calculations – ohms, resistance, voltage, fusing capacity, etc.
  • Must be able to follow schematics and electrical drawings and wire match
  • Ability to understand and know company operation costs and production costs
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to analyze and understand project plan documents and specifications and resolve problems
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must be able to use computer to log in time and job hours
  • Journeyman license considerations for Colorado/Utah where applicable
  • Must possess OSHA forklift and Overhead Crane certification or ability to obtain such
  • Must comply with IE safety programs and operate safely around machinery
