Job Summary

Monitor electrical systems and process control equipment to ensure efficient operation and reliability. Perform regular testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PLCs, VFDs, starters, and emergency lighting. Analyze system data to create performance reports and recommend process improvements. Identify and resolve issues disrupting production, implementing corrective actions to restore performance. Provide training and support for staff on control systems while attending required compliance and safety sessions. Maintain advanced knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and CMMS software. Operate lift trucks, scissors lifts, and boom lifts safely. Possess a valid Oregon electrical license and journeyman status.

Required Qualifications

  • Level 2 Maintenance status
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Solid work ethic
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Clear communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • General computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, CMMS)
  • No safety or LOTO violations within the previous year
  • Annual training and PSM compliance
  • Valid Oregon electrical license
  • Journeyman or LME status
  • Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, heat exchangers, and power transmission
  • Advanced electrical knowledge
  • Ability to operate MEGGER and handheld amp meter
  • Ability to conduct shift rounds
  • Welding proficiency (MIG, TIG, ARC)
  • Ability to perform emergency welds during production
  • Ability to weld ADR belts
  • Ability to build tension knives
  • Ability to unplug cutter loops
  • Ability to rebuild van-mark abrasive rolls
  • Ability to assemble and start up Urschel cutters
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Understanding of soft water system requirements
  • Understanding of boiler water testing
  • Understanding of adding oil to liquid ammonia pumps
  • Understanding of condenser readings and chemical delivery
  • Understanding of waste system operations
  • Understanding of air compressor operations and requirements
  • Active participation in the PSM RM program
  • High-quality work standards
  • Good housekeeping practices
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Fewer than 3 points on attendance record
  • Certification within 30 days for operating lift trucks, scissors lifts, and boom lifts
