Job Summary
Electrical Technician 1st Shift at New Flyer, responsible for programming, troubleshooting and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems to meet production goals. Document work and results, advise management of vehicle condition, and work overtime as required in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Requires strong understanding of AC/DC electrical theory, multimeter use for troubleshooting, series/parallel circuits, PLC logic, relay logic, CAN networks, and awareness of 12V/24V and high voltage systems. Must identify NFI electrical components and schematics, possess intermediate computer skills (Excel, Outlook), and perform work with safety and teamwork in mind.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED equivalent
- Associate degree in automotive discipline, electronics, or equivalent vocational school/job experience combination
- Minimum of one year experience in electrical technician role at NFI
- Knowledge of reading blueprints, basic electrical circuitry and design
- Experience/Knowledge: Automotive or Heavy / commercial truck electrical systems diagnostic experience and mechanical repair experience highly desired
- Previous experience with PC based diagnostic equipment such as automotive scan tools
- Must be able to bend, stoop and reach
- Must be able to climb up and down as well as work using a ladder
- Intermediate level computer skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Troubleshooting experience
