Job Summary
Perform detailed design and prepare drawings for electrical power and mechanical systems, including one-line diagrams, schematics, conduit sizing, grounding design, and wiring diagrams. Provide conceptual designs during bidding stages with limited information and assist in developing external T&D construction standards. Execute various T&D designs in PLSCADD and prepare project documents such as basis of designs, bills of materials, and specifications. Review work for quality and accuracy, contribute to CAD standard development, and serve a major role in the QA/QC process. Assist with client communications and maintain company-client relationships while reducing project complexity for efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Drafting, Design, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering drafting and design, or other relevant experience
- Ability to interpret basic one-line/three-line diagrams and schematics
- Basic working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems as they relate to industrial environments
- Proficiency with PLSCADD
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Proficiency with AUD
- Familiarity and experience utilizing various codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, RUS, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and additional computer software
- A strong written and verbal command of the English language
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

- Education: Associate degree in Drafting, Design, or related field is preferred
