Job Summary
Electrical Systems Program Manager leads engineered-to-order power distribution projects from opportunity to shipment, coordinating cross-functional teams, establishing schedules, managing customer communications, and driving execution for customized electrical equipment. Primary responsibilities include directing projects through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, FAT/witness testing, and shipment; acting as primary customer contact; coordinating across sales, engineering, supply chain, production, quality, and logistics; developing schedules and delivery commitments; leading kickoff meetings and action-item tracking; managing engineering revisions and changes; ensuring FAT/testing and shipment readiness; monitoring risks and implementing corrective actions; maintaining project records and delivery metrics; and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Preferred qualifications include experience with power distribution products (switchgear, PDCs, RPPs, STS, UPS), PMP certification, and familiarity with electrical standards (UL, NEC, ANSI) as well as lean/six sigma practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related discipline preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within manufacturing, electrical equipment, industrial products, or electromechanical environments
- Experience overseeing engineered-to-order, configure-to-order, or custom manufacturing projects
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead procurement planning
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line electrical diagrams, and technical specifications
- Experience working closely with engineering, supply chain, production, and quality departments
- Proficiency with ERP systems and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- PMP certification or active pursuit of certification
- Familiarity with UL, NEC, ANSI, or similar electrical industry standards
- Experience coordinating Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer witness inspections
- Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies
