Job Summary
Own vessel-wide electrical architecture, including propulsion, energy storage, power distribution, control, and communications systems. Define system topologies, interfaces, and grounding/shielding strategies to ensure safety and robustness in marine environments. Create block diagrams, power-tree diagrams, and schematics to guide PCB, harness, and enclosure designs. Track power budgets and current paths across subsystems, analyzing worst-case and transient conditions. Lead evaluation of power electronics, sensors, converters, and communication interfaces, balancing performance, environmental ratings, cost, and lifecycle. Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and maintainable while supporting compliance with electrical safety, EMC, and marine standards. Work on-site in El Segundo, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in electrical system architecture
