Job Summary
Support the development and refinement of system electrical architecture, including power distribution, communication buses, and key interfaces. Define and document electrical interfaces between subsystems, analyze communication flows across electrical and data buses, and translate system-level requirements into clear, testable specifications. Coordinate with subsystem owners to ensure timing and data exchange align with mission needs, while facilitating communication between Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Avionics, and Software teams during design and integration phases. Conduct thorough reviews of requirements and interface control documents to identify gaps, and work with test engineers to confirm electrical implementations satisfy mapped system requirements. This role serves as a primary bridge between Systems Engineering and Electrical Design within the Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Chandler, AZ, requiring a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Experience with electrical systems engineering, including requirements development, system architecture, interface documentation, and requirements management
- Level 3: 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree
- Level 4: 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree
- Ability to travel is required
- Experience leading within an IPT organization as a lead or a subject matter expert (SME)
Desired Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with spacecraft, launch vehicle, missile, or other complex aerospace electrical/avionics systems
- Familiarity with common electrical and data bus standards (e.g., LVDS, RS‐422/485, MIL‐STD‐1553, SpaceWire, CAN, Ethernet, or similar)
- Experience defining and managing electrical interfaces and ICDs across multiple subsystems
- Experience with Systems Engineering fundamentals such as requirements management, verification, and design review execution
