Job Summary
Electrical Systems Engineer II with hands-on design, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical control systems in a high-volume wire and cable manufacturing setting. Lead automation initiatives to improve safety, reliability, quality, and efficiency; design, program, modify, and optimize machine control systems; provide PLC/HMI/VFD/servo troubleshooting; support equipment commissioning and startup; perform root-cause analysis and develop electrical documentation; ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC/OSHA and safety standards; train maintenance and production personnel; collaborate across operations, maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of industrial automation/manufacturing experience
- Experience with capital projects and commissioning
- Advanced knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider PLC platforms
- Experience with ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Siemens S7/TIA Portal, and Schneider Modicon
- Knowledge of FactoryTalk View, WinCC, VFDs, servo systems, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, and industrial networking
- Experience with automation in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work in a hands-on wire and cable manufacturing environment
- Experience with extrusion, continuous process equipment, or industrial automation preferred
- Knowledge of robotics and Industry 4.0 preferred
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Safety-focused responsibilities (LOTO, machine guarding, functional safety)
- Experience with commissioning and startup pipelines
