Job Summary
Lead end-to-end solution development by collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and system architecture for unmanned aerial systems. Design, develop, and maintain system components that meet functional and performance requirements in complex environments, while conducting thorough testing and debugging to ensure reliability and resilience within distributed systems. Work closely with hardware engineers and product managers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components, and collaborate to define and document software engineering processes adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Support engineering product development, production, and sustainment through the entire product lifecycle. Requires a U.S. Secret security clearance and ability to travel up to 25% for test planning.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of post-grad industry experience, including but not limited to electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or systems engineering
- A passion for systems design development, integration, and test
- Hands-on prototyping, troubleshooting, and build experience
- Experience developing automated test scrips and frameworks using a common language (eg. Python, MATLAB, etc)
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
- Must hold a U.S. Secret security clearance, or higher
- Ability to travel up to 25% as needed for test planning and execution
- Willing to spend the first six months on this job in Irvine, CA for hands on training in our HQ before returning to OH permanently
Desired Qualifications
- Hands on experience with complex robotic systems
- Familiarity with IP-Based networks
- Experience with mission systems, including communications systems and components
- Familiarity with aviation airworthiness considerations
