Job Summary
Field-based, full-time Electrical Switchgear & Control Technician diagnosing, repairing, testing, and maintaining LV/MV switchgear; performs preventive maintenance, functional tests, calibration, infrared inspection; responds to emergencies; communicates status and recommendations to customers; documents test results and service reports with accurate records retention; adheres to LOTO and arc-flash safety per NFPA 70E and site procedures; travel up to 25% in the Midwest; typical 40–45 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma/cert in electrical or electromechanical preferred
- Proven switchgear service/repair experience with strong troubleshooting
- Read/interpret one-lines, schematics, and OEM manuals
- Proficient with test gear: multimeter, megohmmeter, primary/secondary injection, relay test set
- Knowledge of electrical safety, LOTO, PPE, and arc-flash practices
- Clear communication and customer service; accurate documentation
- Independent and team-based work capability
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Willing to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies; travel up to 25% Midwest
- Overtime available; typical 40–45 hours per week
