Job Summary
Oversee the electrical department at a greenfield plywood facility by managing staff, diagnosing equipment failures, and coordinating preventative and predictive maintenance for installations and modifications. Ensure safety compliance by developing SOPs, eliminating hazards, and enforcing policies while supervising electricians and maintaining all electrical equipment in safe, efficient operating condition. Schedule tasks to meet maintenance needs, manage spare inventory to optimize costs, and design new installations involving power systems, motor controls, PLCs, and HMI software. Work with vendors and regulatory agencies to maintain compliance documentation and lead team assignments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of related electrical experience
- 3+ years of management experience
- Associate's degree or vocational certification
- BS or EE degree preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of plant electrical equipment, operations, and predictive/preventative maintenance systems
- Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental rules, laws, and requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs and the writing and troubleshooting of control logic, HMI systems, data communications networking, electronic and instrumentation equipment
- Demonstrated oral, written communication and math skills
- Ability to interpret and apply HR, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively motivate, coach and lead direct reports through daily assignments and effectively lead meetings and team assignments
- Effective leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of medium and high voltage systems
- Knowledge of IT systems, PC hardware and software servers, fiber opt cabling and network switches
- Basic budgeting and financial analysis skills
- Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and P & ID schematics
- Consent to a background check
- Consent to a drug screen
- Documentation indicating legal right to work in the U.S.
