Job Summary
Resolve electrical-mechanical issues and equipment errors on automated material handling systems by performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting PLCs, ladder logic, and control components. Conduct on-site set-up, programming, and customer training while interpreting technical drawings to diagnose problems. Touch base with customers and other departments to ensure completed work and reach resolution. This 100% traveling role involves some weekend or night work and requires standing, walking, and driving in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to resolve electrical-mechanical issues and equipment errors on automated material handling systems
- Must be able to perform repair and preventive maintenance on systems
- Must have experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) troubleshooting, debugging, and programming
- Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components – photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders
- Knowledge of PLC programs; ability to troubleshoot ladder logic and modify the PLC program as needed
- Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings
- Knowledge of safe industrial work practices
- 100% traveling position
- Some weekend/night work required as needed
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Occasional climbing on steps, scaffolding and/or mezzanines
- Sitting in and/or driving a vehicle for a long period of time
- Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities
- Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree from vocational school or college with focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ years of experience in the electronics field
