Electrical Service Technician

Job Summary
Conduct testing, maintenance, and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and motor control apparatus in the shop and field. Perform Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests while wiring breakers and utilizing test equipment to read schematics and plot time-current curves. Complete mechanical repairs including tear down, refurbishment, and parts replacement, and accurately document work using Power DB. Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls and test transformers for Power Factor and TTR. Requires valid driver's license, ability to work indoors and outdoors, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1-5 years' related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance
- Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing
- Valid Driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an Electrical Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited college
- similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee)
- Prefered experience as Wind Turbine Technician, Solar Technicinas or Electricians
