Job Summary
Conduct daily supervision of electrical trades on large ground-up projects, managing crews for installation, alteration, and repair of systems and equipment. Collaborate with the Project Manager to create estimates, lay out work, and establish schedules while ensuring timely material and manpower delivery. Monitor work performance, direct subordinate foremen, and handle administrative paperwork including daily reports and safety documentation. Maintain overall project safety by enforcing protocols, investigating incidents, and ensuring employee training compliance. Operate heavy equipment, read schematics, and work energized circuits with management approval. Work 40 hours per week including nights and overtime, with on-call rotation for emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years or more of commercial/industrial electrical experience
- Must have a current Drivers License and reliable transportation
- Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures
- Must be able to pass drug and background check
- Must be able to travers and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required
- Must be able to work night shifts, as needed
- Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed
- Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image
- Possess good vision, normal or corrected
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Possesses good hearing, normal or corrected
- Must be able to work inside or outside with possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and weather elements in restricted or confined spaces
- Must be able to work on slippery or uneven surfaces
- Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other exposures typical of heavy construction
- Must be able to operate trenchers, backhoe, and lift trucks in a safe manner
- Must be able to operate wire tuggers and hydraulic benders
- Must be able to dig trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
- Must be able to operate all equipment including trenchers, backhoe, and lift trucks in a safe manner
- Must be able to operate two handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers
- Must be able to operate company vehicles with both manual and automatic transmission
- Must be able to operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts, both electric and gasoline powered
- Must be able to work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in CECs Safety Policy
- Must be able to comprehend reading and drawing prints, specifications and schematics
- Must be able to comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in CECs Safety Policy, Handbook, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy
- Must be able to install and make branch wire terminations in junction boxes and panel boards
- Must be able to install and make feeder wire terminations in junction boxes and switch boards
- Must be able to bend conduit by hand with hand benders
- Must be able to utilize all power tools, saws, threaders, and knockout punches
- Must be able to talk and hear, ability to communicate with others both written and orally and by telephone
