Job Summary
Oversee LANL's Electrical Safety Program and serve as the primary electrical safety contact. Provide expert guidance on electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE), conduct incident investigations, lead safety assessments, and review IWD and LOTO procedures. Develop and implement safety policies, collaborate with engineers, project managers, craft teams, and field professionals to ensure safe electrical work practices, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Requires a BS with 7 years of field experience (or equivalent), DOE Q clearance, strong communication and leadership abilities, and the ability to pass Radiological Worker II training.
Required Qualifications
- BS and 7 years of field experience (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience)
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q level security clearance
- Advanced knowledge of electrical safety standards including NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA, particularly NFPA 70E
- Experience with electrical engineering/technology in various applications such as low voltage AC and DC systems
- Significant experience with personal computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated expert communication and organizational skills for presenting complex technical information
- Ability to pass Radiological Worker II training
