Electrical Quality Inspector

Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment against the National Electrical Code, state regulations, and project specifications. Test components for defects using instruments like multimeters and meggers, then verify compliance with drawings and standards. Identify discrepancies and initiate corrective actions while maintaining accurate records of inspection results and reports. Communicate findings to contractors, electricians, and stakeholders regarding code requirements and resolution strategies. Provide technical guidance on electrical code interpretation and troubleshooting techniques. Perform duties Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the first shift, with occasional weekend work required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience as an electrician or in a related field
- Must be authorized to work in the USA
- Knowledge of the NEC, state and local electrical codes, and other relevant standards and regulations
- Knowledge of electrical principles, theories, and applications
- Knowledge of quality standards, methods, and procedures
- Skill in using various inspection tools and instruments
- Skill in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Skill in writing clear and concise reports and documents
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, drawings, specifications, and manuals
- Ability to write clear and concise inspection reports, notices of violation, and other correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences using oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in applying and enforcing electrical codes and regulations
- Ability to pay attention to details and accuracy
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Must be available for occasional weekend work
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in performing electrical inspections for industrial projects
- Experience in using electronic databases and software applications for inspection management
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
