Electrical Project Manager

Job Summary

Plan, organize, and staff electrical, automation, and MES construction projects while ensuring they complete safely, profitably, and on schedule. Generate new business by networking with customers and establishing relationships. Manage staff through bi-annual performance reviews, coaching employees on growth, and conducting effective evaluations. Coordinate with the Purchasing Department and vendors for material logistics and review outgoing estimates for accuracy. Visit jobsites to monitor progress, interact with crews and foremen, and support safe behaviors. Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings including ORM's, staffing sessions, and financial reviews. Maintain customer expectations and foster a positive company culture through constructive employee relations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (in one of the following fields: Construction Management, Project Management, Construction, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields)
  • 5 years experience in the electrical field
  • 1 year of electrical estimating experience
  • Travel: 15-20%
  • Must be able to work between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday
  • Must be available to work at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs
  • Must be able to generate new business
  • Must be able to network, establish, and maintain customer relationships
  • Must be able to foster friendly and constructive employee relations
  • Must be able to work with Purchasing Department and vendors to ensure effective material coordination
  • Must be able to attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings (i.e., ORM's, Staffing Meeting, Jobsite Meetings, Project Manager Meeting, Financial Meeting, etc.)
  • Must be able to participate in bi-annual field performance review process
  • Must be able to conduct effective employee performance reviews in a timely manner
  • Must be able to coach employees on future growth opportunities
  • Must be able to maintain high integrity relations
  • Must be able to establish field merit wage increases
  • Must be able to partner with Human Resources to optimize recruiting and selection, employee relations, and other related topics as it pertains to direct reports
  • Must be able to review outgoing estimates with Estimating Department to ensure accuracy
  • Must be able to visit various jobsites
  • Must be able to interact with crew, customers, foreman, and general contractors to ensure proper job progress
  • Must be able to support and encourage safe behavior
  • Must be able to pass a background and drug test
  • Must be able to pass E-Verify

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of a Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Accubid
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
