Job Summary
Electrical Construction Project Manager for data-center-focused builds in Chesterton, IN. Lead cradle-to-grave projects for a general contractor, including estimating, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and post-implementation support. Coordinate with contractors and vendors, provide client liaison, manage change orders and project plans, ensure work aligns with design standards, maintain logs, oversee safety and field execution, and manage regional supplier teams. Strong emphasis on delivering data-center facilities on time and within budget, with heavy travel and a client-facing, leadership-driven role. Proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, and related tools; OSHA-certified or eligible within 12 months; background in electrical trades and experience interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as a General Contractor
- Experience managing a budget 100mm or more
- 5+ years’ experience as a licensed journeyman electrician / electrical supervisor a plus
- 5+ years of supervisory experience / People and Resource Management
- Thorough knowledge of electrical trade practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work
- Ability to supervise skilled workers and provide leadership
- Experience interpreting blueprints and specifications (electrical and mechanical)
- Experience with Electrical Conduits / Power Systems (UPS, Switchgear, Generators, PDUs)
- Background in electrical installations including crown box, offset and slice junction
- Minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry
- Client Facing / Client relationship / Client Management skills
- Solid Construction Project Management experience
- Effective Communicator (emails, phone, in-person)
- Ability to work independently; self-starter, detail-oriented
- Heavy travel or local if near site
- Solid Admin skills
- OSHA Certification (or ability to get within 12 months)
- Finance Experience - forecasting, budgets, etc.
- Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, Teams, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD
