Job Summary
Electrical Project Engineer – High Voltage Substations responsible for leading HV substation projects (69kV–765kV) for utility and EPC clients, performing protection & controls and physical design deliverables, developing BOMs and equipment specifications, coordinating with clients/vendors/subcontractors, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to proposals and client presentations. Requires BSEE, 5+ years substation design, onsite ability in Overland Park, KS, and flexibility for hybrid work after an initial in-office period; PE license preferred. Travel for design reviews, site visits, and field verification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- Minimum 5 years of substation design experience (69kV+)
- Experience in Protection & Controls and/or Physical Substation Design
- Ability to work onsite in Overland Park, KS (at least initially)
- Ability to pass standard pre-employment screening requirements
- Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Project lead or technical specialist experience on utility substation projects
- QA/QC review experience
- Strong client-facing and coordination skills
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office
