Job Summary

Electrical Project Engineer in Philadelphia, PA responsible for leading electrical design efforts for buildings, collaborating with clients, engineers, and cross-functional teams; managing project budgets and schedules, mentoring staff, and ensuring compliance with codes. Responsibilities include detailed designs, calculations, client communication, project planning, documentation of design decisions, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, PE license, 5+ years in building design, proficiency with engineering software (e.g., AGI32, SKM, Revit, SET tools), and travel up to 15%. Located in Philadelphia; on-site work with no remote option indicated.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings.
  • Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; energy code compliance and software such as ComCheck; Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards.
  • Proficient with the use of reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
  • Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS, BIM software, and CTC Revit Add In Tools; Proficiency of Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc.
  • Strong training and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays
