Job Summary
Integrate electrical systems into new equipment designs and research components for manufacturing and production environments. Oversee manufacturing and installation of hardware while inspecting facilities to assess system quality and operational efficiency. Design testing procedures to validate performance, troubleshoot unforeseen implementation issues, and ensure systems meet regulatory standards. Collect technical data for reporting, train technicians, and facilitate communication across engineering and production teams. Travel up to 30% for on-site installations. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required with proficiency in AutoCAD and Siemens PLC programming.
Required Qualifications
- Must live in greater Tuscaloosa, Dallas, Joplin, Phillipsburg or Frederick
- Travel up to 30% may be required for on-site installations and inspections
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Experience in an electrical engineering or controls-focused role
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Hands-on experience in PLC programming, specifically Siemens TIA Portal and Step 7
- Familiarity with Siemens hardware including: 300 and 1500 series PLCs
- Familiarity with Siemens hardware including: Remote I/O Systems
- Familiarity with Siemens hardware including: Safety I/O
- Familiarity with Siemens hardware including: S120 & G120 Drive Systems
- Ability to develop and communicate technical documentation clearly and effectively
- In-depth understanding of electrical components, systems, and materials
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong presentation and team collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and precision
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as HART, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and others
- Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and external partners
- Must be capable of sitting or standing for extended periods and navigating production areas
- Must be able to access and inspect production equipment, which may involve climbing, kneeling, or stooping
- Regularly required to lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally may lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when necessary
