Job Summary
Lead MEP design phase efforts for electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring constructability and efficiency from concept through implementation; partner with project managers and operations teams to integrate design strategies into construction projects; mentor preconstruction staff and provide technical guidance for complex systems; develop and review project documentation, submittals, and specifications for electrical and low-voltage systems; participate in estimating, scheduling, partner selection, and quality control planning; facilitate coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to align with project goals; support commissioning planning and implement design solutions that optimize constructability and project outcomes; work with operations and engineering teams to support development and implementation of innovative construction products and systems used on active projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 8–15 years of experience in electrical construction, project management, or preconstruction leadership
- Experience leading preconstruction and design-phase efforts for large-scale commercial or industrial projects
- Experience coordinating design efforts utilizing BIM, VDC, Bluebeam, Revit, or similar construction technologies
- Ability to travel 20–30% to project sites
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
