Job Summary
Create scaled design drawings showing proposed installations relative to existing facilities, including grounding layouts, underground duct banks, cable tray arrangements, and electrical equipment locations. Apply computer-aided drafting skills using AutoCAD or MicroStation while assisting experienced designers on walkdowns at client sites to gather project information. Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and facilitate necessary design adjustments. Work three days in the Clayton, Missouri office with two remote days, supported by hands-on training in 3D design software environments.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
- Six (6) or more years of physical design experience including experience in the development of grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts, and electrical equipment location drawings
- Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
- Ability to multi-task from project to project
- Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined team environment
- Must be able to create drawings to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions
- Must be able to accompany and assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for your design project
- Must be able to explain drawings to vendors and construction contractors so appropriate design adjustments can be made
- Must be able to work three days a week in the office in the Clayton, Missouri office
- Must be able to work remotely for two days
