Job Summary
Create design drawings to scale showing relations of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions. Apply computer-aided drafting skills in AutoCAD 3D or MicroStation while assisting experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather project information. Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and facilitate design adjustments. Work in a multi-disciplined team environment preparing design drawings based on design input. This role offers a hybrid arrangement with three office days and two remote days. We are an award-winning firm specializing in advanced engineering solutions for power generation, oil & gas, and industrial projects, including carbon capture and renewable energy integration.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
- Six (6) or more years of physical design experience including experience in the development of grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts, and electrical equipment location drawings
- Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
- Ability to multi-task from project to project

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
