Job Summary
Create design drawings to scale showing the relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications. Utilize computer-aided drafting skills in AutoCAD 3D or MicroStation to prepare design drawings based on input from a multi-disciplinary team. Accompany experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for design projects. Interface with vendors and construction contractors to explain drawings and facilitate necessary design adjustments. Work in a hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote. Requires five years of physical design experience and full bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
Required Qualifications
- An Associates Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
- Five (5) or more years of physical design experience
- Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
- Ability to multi-task from project to project
- Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English (read, write, and speak)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the development of grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts, and electrical equipment location drawings
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
