Job Summary
Electrical Performance Engineer at Nexamp responsible for improving the reliability, availability, and performance of Nexamp’s portfolio of distributed and utility-scale solar PV and BESS assets. Performs root-cause failure analysis and diagnoses issues across inverters, transformers, protection systems, controls, and balance-of-plant equipment; optimizes protection schemes and operating strategies; translates field behavior and performance data into improved settings, logic, and standards; collaborates with Operations, Asset Management, Controls, and OEMs to ensure safe, reliable fleet operation and maximize asset value throughout the project lifecycle. Works in a hybrid capacity from offices in Lawrence, MA; Boston, MA; New York, NY; or Chicago, IL. Reports to the Director, Performance Engineering. Key responsibilities include protecting settings coordination, utilities engagement on grid-interaction issues, improving system reliability and energy performance, developing standards and templates, leading data-driven reliability investigations, refining monitoring and diagnostics strategy, and mentoring junior analysts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience
- 2+ years of experience in solar and protection relays (breakers, reclosers, power logic controllers, etc)
- Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering preferred
