Job Summary
Own a defined portion of Superpower's electrical or embedded controls architecture, ranging from instrumentation and sensors to embedded controllers and wiring. Design, build, and validate electrical systems that generate data for developing, controlling, and protecting the engine while partnering with propulsion, mechanical, software, and test engineers to integrate hardware into a first-of-its-kind gas turbine platform. Develop and troubleshoot embedded hardware and control systems during engine testing to identify root causes and improve performance, helping build reliable systems from first prototype through validation. This role requires a degree in electrical or computer engineering and hands-on experience with embedded programming, microcontrollers, and hardware integration. Internships are 100% onsite at Boom's headquarters in Centennial, CO, with a base salary range of $87,000 - $117,000.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a closely related field.
- Internship, research, or project experience designing, integrating, or testing electrical, embedded, or control systems.
- Experience with embedded programming, instrumentation, microcontrollers, electrical design, PCB development, sensors, or hardware integration.
- Comfortable working in the lab with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and real hardware – not just simulations.
- A track record of taking ownership, finishing difficult projects, and solving problems without waiting for someone else to hand you the answer.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
