Job Summary
Drive profitable sales for the C&I business in the assigned New England territory by developing and executing effective territory business plans. Prioritize end customers, markets, and distributors to manage the region, while implementing promotions and directives as set by division management. Collaborate across other C&I territories and within other 3M EMD Divisions to meet customer needs, utilizing a company vehicle for travel that may include up to 50% domestic coverage. This role supports 3M's mission to apply science in collaborative ways to improve lives daily, requiring a Bachelor's degree and three years of direct sales or electrical construction/industrial experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- three (3) years direct sales and/or electrical construction/industrial experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Associate's degree (completed and verified prior to start)
- five (5) years of electrical industry sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Current, valid driver's license
- Sales experience in the Electric C&I Market
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
- Aptitude to understand and train customers on multiple product lines and applications
- Field/Channel sales experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels
- Ability to qualify and prioritize sales opportunities within assigned territory
- Experience working in a matrix environment or large complex organization
- Strong computer skills
- Database management: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Salesforce.com
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills
- Strong team player, ability to work effectively with peers
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
