Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of electrical subcontractors and manage the production work cell in the White Ga facility, ensuring safe installations, alterations, and repairs of electrical systems adhere to detailed engineering drawings and customer standards. Coordinate with Production Management to track project milestones, resolve technical or schedule issues, and validate turnover documentation including pre-power checks and system turnover reports. Directly supervise team members on-site while performing hands-on tasks such as conduit routing, wiring, and troubleshooting complex control circuits using test equipment. Work 40 hours per week with overtime as needed, reporting progress and non-conformities to the Production Manager to maintain quality and efficiency across the electrical panel shop.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to accommodate minimal travel on short notice
- Must be willing to work 40 hours a week, and overtime when necessary
- Knowledge of conduit and containment routing and the ability to validate it's installation
- Ability to read, understand, interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts
- Understanding AC/DC electrical theory
- Familiar with industrial control components such as relays, contactors, power supplies, terminal blocks, PLC I/O, circuit breakers and motor starters
- Experience using common electrical hand tools and test equipment
- Preferred UL MTR or understanding of UL 508A
- Ability to troubleshoot complex control and motor wiring circuit problems
- Exhibits leadership by example
- 3-5 years of experience assembling or wiring industrial electrical control panels
- Must have the ability to evaluate progress against set goals
- Complete all assigned tasks within the required time constraints and quality standards
- Assist with routine equipment trial runs to ensure that it meets specifications and ensure equipment is installed to Vanderlande and/or client standards
- Provide additional assistance with training pertaining to all of electrical installation of Vanderlande and 3rd party equipment for any new team members under your supervision
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 10 certification
- Proactive safety management skills
- Ability to work in a team, as a team player
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft office suite and specialty programs
- Adaptability to different or evolving situations/environments

- Demonstrates proper wire stripping, crimping, ferrule installation, and terminal termination techniques
- Understands wire sizing (AWG) and basic current-carrying capacity
- Able to identify common electrical symbols and schematics
- Understands the difference between line voltage and control voltage
- Can troubleshoot simple wiring issues prints and a multi-meter
- Understands the importance of proper torque on electrical connections
- Maintain a clean, and organized operation while properly routing the wiring within the control panels
- Filling out panel inspection documents for traceability and quality
- Understands the consequences of powered on testing with high voltage
- Understands LOTO, NFPA 70E, electrical PPE
- Substantial to extensive amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting
- Will talk and hear to communicate
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools
- May require picking up, lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50lbs
- May require working at heights, climbing ladders, stairways, and possible work from platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements
- Working in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing proper PPE
- Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and safety toed work boots with a minimum 6" ankle
Desired Qualifications
- Working experience with material handling equipment
- Experience with AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors
- Certified electrician
- Detailed knowledge and experience in a technical or specialty area
