Job Summary
Electrical Manager MV role overseeing coordination of planning for contractors and craft activities on a utility-scale solar site. Responsibilities include ensuring high-quality installation of electrical portions of projects (underground cabling, mod-to-mod wiring, combiner box terminations, DC collection system); providing drawing reviews and feedback with engineering; coordinating with Site Manager and Project Manager on schedules; supervising and ensuring quality control of the work team; interfacing with personnel involved in connecting the project to the power grid; facilitating project meetings and liaising between engineers and contractors; fostering teamwork; maintaining relationships with visitors to the site (customers and contractors); reviewing logistics and procurement activities; ensuring timely transmission of plans, specifications, submittals, and RFIs; monitoring safety, quality, and efficiency; ensuring subcontract crews have resources and support. Includes minimum 5 years supervisory experience and knowledge of testing methods for DC and MV cables, electrical drawings, and SCADA systems; requires a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
- Proficiency in the installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium voltage cables
- Knowledgeable about current injection, Hi-pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble, and other methods of cable and equipment testing
- Possess working knowledge of electrical drawings, sketches, and prints, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes and vaults for collection systems, underground and pad mount transformer usage, SCADA systems used in the power industry
- Current driver’s license
