Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and related components in a school facility, including low- and high-voltage wiring up to 480V; install and service low-voltage systems (fire alarms, security, intercoms, building automation); maintain and repair clocks/timing systems; perform predictive maintenance; ensure compliance with NEC/OSHA; collaborate with maintenance/HVAC/construction teams; follow safety procedures and codes; read blueprints/schematics and use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and power/tools; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred
- State or local electrician license (Journeyman or equivalent) preferred or required depending on jurisdiction
- Knowledge of NEC codes, OSHA safety standards, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or on rooftops
