Job Summary
Electrical Maintenance Technician responsible for planned preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of electrical equipment in a 4-on/4-off 12-hour shift environment. Performs fault finding on electrical control systems, motors, drives, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment; supports continuous improvement to maximise plant availability; completes accurate maintenance records; ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures; collaborates with production teams on installations, upgrades, and commissioning; identifies root causes of recurring faults and implements corrective actions. Requires recognised electrical engineering qualification and hands-on experience in manufacturing/industrial settings; PLC fault-finding and automation experience highly desirable; willing to work rotating day/night shifts in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC, HND, or equivalent)
- Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship preferred
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification desirable, not essential
- Experience in electrical maintenance in manufacturing/industrial environments
- Experience with PLC fault-finding and industrial automation systems
- Experience with PLC-controlled machinery, motors, drives, inverters, and control circuits
