Job Summary
Electrical Maintenance Technician on 1st shift in Akron, OH responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and machinery in a manufacturing environment. Perform routine inspections, diagnose faults, install and commission new electrical systems, maintain schematics and documentation, work with PLCs, VFDs, motors, relays, and other control systems, ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations, and support engineering collaboration to improve equipment reliability. Utilize CMMS to monitor maintenance activities and respond to breakdowns and emergencies, with a focus on minimizing downtime.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.), VFDs, and industrial automation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints
- Good understanding of safety practices and electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC)
- Basic mechanical skills are a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
