Job Summary
Coordinate electrical maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of plant systems at Deer Lake Power Plant. Develop, improve, and optimize predictive maintenance tools and techniques while analyzing results to adjust strategies. Identify and implement design, process, and maintenance improvements to address recurring equipment issues, working with low voltage and PLCs. Provide technical guidance and day-to-day oversight of the electrical maintenance group, supported by a Chargehand. Plan and organize electrical maintenance schedules in coordination with Maintenance and Operations leadership teams. Troubleshoot electrical and equipment issues, conduct root cause analysis of failures, and develop corrective action plans. Lead preventative and predictive electrical maintenance activities designed to maximize equipment reliability and enhance overall operational performance. Participate in team-based problem-solving initiatives to address operational and maintenance challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a combination of engineering education and relevant electrical trade experience
- Must be eligible to register with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT), as experience permits
- 7 to 10 years of experience in a similar role
- Successful candidate must provide a Certificate of Conduct from a local police agency or the RCMP prior to employment
