Job Summary
Maintenance Planner is responsible for the effective planning of non-emergency maintenance activities for the assigned Area Maintenance team. They ensure resources including detailed operations, materials, spare parts, external labor, drawings, manuals and lock-out procedures are identified and available prior to scheduling. They coordinate with the Maintenance Coordinator, Engineering, external vendors and contractors, warehouse, procurement and production personnel to enable safe, reliable, and cost-effective work in alignment with established work management processes. The role requires 5 years of electrical craft experience in heavy industry, strong leadership and communication, and deep knowledge of electrical/electronic systems. Desired certifications in Shutdown Planning and Maintenance Planning; TPM/LEAN knowledge preferred. Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience preferred. Familiarity with OSHA and NFPA safety standards. A proactive problem-solver focused on minimizing downtime and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience as qualified craft personnel (Electrical Discipline) in a heavy industrial environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and systems
- Develop formal Knowledge and gain certification in Shutdown Planning
- Develop formal Maintenance Planning knowledge and gain certification in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
- Knowledgeable in TPM/LEAN preferred
- Strong continuous improvement and project/program management skills
- Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement solutions
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuitry diagrams and drawings preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Ability to operate independently, to multi-task, and to prioritize quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- SAP experience preferred
- Solid understanding of OSHA, NFPA, and other safety standards
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on minimizing downtime
