Job Summary
Lead capital projects sustaining electrical infrastructure at the paper mill, managing improvements to power distribution, crane controls, and drive upgrades. Address ongoing electrical issues, identify critical spares, and troubleshoot faults to ensure operational continuity. Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and vendors to execute projects while maintaining accurate SAP records and monitoring system parameters for optimization. Work variable hours including early starts and late shifts, applying deep technical expertise in high voltage systems and PLCs to support mill safety and reliability standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred
- Minimum 3-7 years of experience within pulp & paper, chemical, or oil & gas industries
- Strong background in power distribution, controls, PLCs, drives, and high voltage systems
- Experience with equipment from GE, Allen Bradley, and Westinghouse
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Willingness to work variable hours, including early starts and occasional late shifts when needed
- High self-motivation and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing contractors and vendors is a plus
