Job Summary
Install services, feeders, circuits, and conduit while performing layout, preparation, and underground installations. Troubleshoot motors and controls, bend conduit, and operate trenchers, backhoes, and manlifts safely. Work in all elements including heat, cold, rain, and snow, requiring the ability to stoop, crawl, and lift 50 lbs. Supervise and train apprentices as assigned. This full-time role involves variable hours between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with occasional night work during maintenance windows and frequent overtime. Some travel is required, up to 50%. Candidates must hold a current electrical license in Montana and be willing to acquire licensing in Washington, Oregon, and Montana within 180 days.
Required Qualifications
- Applicant can demonstrate experience as a Journeyman Electrician
- Install services, feeders, circuits and conduit
- Install and terminate switchgear and other devices
- Perform layout and preparation for installation
- Perform underground layout and installation
- Troubleshoot motors and controls
- Fully comprehends Electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code
- Able to work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Must supply hand tools and carry them at all times
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs., includes, equipment, tools and boxes
- Able to work from all types of ladders and perform work at various heights
- Possess sound eyesight to positively identify colors of wires
- Able to bend conduit with hand or with mechanical benders
- Able to operate trenchers, backhoe, and manlifts in a safe manner or be willing to learn
- Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or with power equipment
- May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
- Must hold a current OR Electrical License
- Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics
- Practices and comprehends Ontivity, Legacy Division safety policy
- Able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background screening and drug testing
- Possess a valid driver's license and willing to submit to DOT Physical
- MVR record must meet insurance company eligibility
- Strong communication and team working skills
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions
- May be required to supervise and train apprentices
- This is a full-time position
- Days Monday through Friday
- Variable hours between (and sometimes outside of) 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Night work occasionally during maintenance window, to meet customer requirements
- Frequent required overtime
- Some travel required
- Must be licensed in MT, and be willing to acquire licensing in WA, OR, and MT within 180 days
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Related trade school education required
- Current Journeyman
