Job Summary
Industrial Electrician Journeyperson at General Motors responsible for layout, installation, repair and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment and circuits, troubleshooting and control systems. Responsibilities include following safety procedures (OSHA), maintaining and repairing electrical equipment, analyzing and troubleshooting malfunctions to prevent production delays, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, promoting teamwork across departments, participating in continuous improvement, reading and interpreting drawings and schematics, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, and supporting flexible shift hours including overtime. Minimum qualifications include at least six years of related experience or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion, eligibility to work in the U.S., ability to pass GM hiring requirements, and onsite reporting in Alexandria, Indiana. Note: relocation costs are the responsibility of the applicant, and GM does not provide immigration sponsorship for this role.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice
