Job Summary
General Motors seeks a qualified Electrical Journeyman/Journeyperson In Training to perform layout, installation, repair and preventative maintenance of complex electrical equipment and circuits, troubleshoot control systems, interpret drawings/schematics, and participate in continuous improvement. Responsibilities include following OSHA safety procedures, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment, diagnosing malfunctions to prevent production delays, performing preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, collaborating with other departments, and supporting teamwork. Requires at least six years of related electrician experience or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate in the Electrical trade, ability to work various shifts including overtime, and eligibility to work in the United States. The role may be filled at Journeyperson or JIT level; relocation is not provided, and sponsorship is not offered.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice
