Job Summary
Electrical Journeyman needed at General Motors in Marion. This role focuses on layout, installation, repair and preventative maintenance of complex electrical equipment and control systems, with diagnosing and correcting malfunctions to prevent production delays. Responsibilities include following OSHA safety procedures, performing maintenance on plant equipment, troubleshooting electrical issues, reading and interpreting drawings and wiring schematics, participating in continuous improvement initiatives, and promoting teamwork across departments. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, ability to work with various shifts including overtime, and compliance with GM hiring processes. The role is onsite with relocation not provided and GM sponsorship is not offered.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice
