Job Summary
Industrial Electrician Journeyperson at General Motors responsible for layout, installation, repair and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and circuits, troubleshooting and control systems. Follows OSHA safety procedures, analyzes and repairs electrical malfunctions, performs preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, reads drawings and wiring schematics, participates in continuous improvement, and collaborates with other departments. Requires 6+ years of Electrical trade experience or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion, eligibility to work in the United States, and willingness to work flexible shifts with overtime; note that GM does not sponsor immigration. Location: Batavia, NY.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice
