Job Summary
Industrial Electrician Journeyperson at General Motors in Akron, NY. Primary responsibilities include installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of complex electrical equipment and circuits; troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions; read and interpret drawings and wiring schematics; ensure safety per OSHA and company procedures; support continuous improvement and cross-department collaboration; and participate in production-support activities. Minimum qualifications require at least six years of related electrician experience or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade, ability to pass GM hiring requirements (assessments, drug test, background check), eligibility to work in the U.S., and willingness to work flexible shifts including overtime. The role may be filled at Journeyperson or Journeyperson in Training with corresponding compensation; relocation is the responsibility of the applicant. GM does not provide immigration sponsorship for this role.
Required Qualifications
- Six (6) years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
