Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on wiring, fixtures, and equipment; upgrade existing systems to meet current safety and efficiency standards. Interpret blueprints and schematics to plan installations, coordinate with other tradespeople and project managers, and assist electricians as needed during tasks. Identify and mitigate safety hazards while adhering to all safety protocols. This full-time temporary role lasts 6 to 8 months at the Travel Plaza near Mayetta, KS, under construction, with infrequent overnight travel and a requirement for a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and team members
- Must have Journeyman certification
- Must have the minimum required tool set acquired within 90 days of employment
- Must be willing and able to work in all seasons and conditions throughout the year and may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to pass pre-employment tests (background and drug screen)
- Must be able to demonstrate attention to safety
- Must have effective time management skills
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Must have a valid driver's license with good driving records to be insurable
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be willing to work extended and varied shifts as required
- Must be able to climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel frequently and stand for long periods
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, work with heights
- Must be able to provide Journeyman's license
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in construction or a related field is highly desired but must have solid working knowledge of commercial and residential electrical systems
