Job Summary

Interpret and apply electrical blueprints, NEC requirements, and codes including UBC and NFPA standards for installations. Operate hand and power tools, perform troubleshooting in circuits, and conduct metering and testing up to 480 volts. Supervise, train, and work alongside apprentices or trainees to ensure safe, timely completion of assignments. Generate tools and materials lists, perform layout preparations, and communicate technical details via sketches and schematics. Investigate near misses and report incidents to supervisors. This role supports Rex Moore's mission of building safe, sustainable cities through integrated electrical solutions.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Holds a current State Certified Electrical Journeyman license, if mandated by the state
Proficient interpretation and application of utilities blueprints
Proficient interpretation and application of electrical blueprints
Proficient interpretation and application of architectural blueprints
Proficient interpretation and application of civil blueprints
Proficient interpretation and application of structural blueprints
Proficient interpretation and application of plumbing blueprints
Proficient interpretation and application of NEC
Proficient interpretation and application of UBC
Proficient interpretation and application of NFPA-72
Proficient interpretation and application of NFPA-70E
Proficient interpretation and application of construction safety orders
Proficient interpretation and application of all applicable code requirements
Proficient at the interpretation and application of shop drawings and details
Proficient at the interpretation and application of one-line diagrams
Proficient at the interpretation and application of field sketches
Proficient at the interpretation and application of schematics

Able to generate complete tools & materials list
Able to perform troubleshooting and problem resolution in electrical circuits, systems & equipment
Able to perform metering and testing up to 480-volts maximum
Is proficient with the use of the volt meter
Is proficient with the use of the ammeter
Is proficient with the use of the insulation/resistance meter
Able to read and apply requirements of NEC for all installations, including special systems & occupancy
Able to read UBC, NFPA-72, NFPA-70E, construction safety orders and all applicable code requirements proficiently
Able to read blueprints as applied to the electrical scope
Able to read architectural blueprints as applied to the electrical scope
Able to read civil blueprints as applied to the electrical scope
Able to read structural blueprints as applied to the electrical scope
Able to read plumbing blueprints as applied to the electrical scope
Able to read shop drawings and details
Able to read one-line diagrams

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, basic calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation & troubleshooting
Must be able to supervise, direct, monitor, train and work alongside one Electrician Trainee and/or one Apprentice
Must be able to ensure a safe and timely completion of assignment(s)
Must be able to investigate or assist in investigation and reporting of near misses, incidents & injuries involving jobsite employees
Must be able to perform assignment lay-outs and preparation for installation via verbal and written instructions, field sketches & blueprint reference
