Job Summary

Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential units and administrative facilities under close supervision. Troubleshoot electrical issues, replace components such as light fixtures, switches, outlets, and smoke detectors, and assist with preventive maintenance inspections. Learn to read electrical drawings, maintain inventory of supplies, and document work orders using computerized software. Respond to routine maintenance requests while observing all safety standards and properly using PPE. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles
  • Willingness to learn residential electrical systems
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work independently after receiving instruction

Desired Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed an Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Building Trades, or related vocational or college program
  • Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Previous experience using hand tools or performing basic maintenance
  • Enrollment in a technical college, trade school, apprenticeship, or community college electrical program
